Welcome to the Net Price Calculator!

Brown’s Net Price Calculator (NPC) is designed to be used by U.S. Citizens and permanent residents whose parents do not own a business and who do not receive foreign earned income.

Institutional formulas used to determine eligibility for need-based aid funding vary greatly from school to school. You may receive different results when using NPC's from other schools, even if these institutions are similar to Brown.

Before you get started, gather yours and your parents’ most recent federal tax return, W2(s), and any savings, investments and other asset values.  It is important to read each question carefully, as the estimated results are only as reliable as the information you provide in the calculator.

In 2024-2025, 46% of our full-time beginning undergraduates received grant/scholarship aid.

Welcome to Brown's Net Price Calculator. This tool has been designed in collaboration with the College Board to assist prospective students and their families with estimating a family contribution and any need-based aid, if the student were to attend Brown.

  • All institutional aid offered by Brown is based on a family’s demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Brown, as a member of the Ivy League, does not offer aid based on academic achievement, athletic ability, or any other form of merit.
  • Brown only considers siblings in college if they are enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree program. Do not include siblings who are enrolled in graduate or medical school.
  • This calculator is not intended for international students.
  • This calculator may not provide accurate results for families who own a business and/or rental real estate, and/or have foreign earned income.
  • If parents are divorced or separated, the calculator should be completed separately by the custodial and noncustodial parents. Each contribution should then be added together for the estimated total parent contribution.
  • The cost of attendance, estimated family contribution, and estimated financial aid packages are based on Brown's financial aid policies for the 2024-25 academic year. Any changes in policies may affect the estimated family contribution and offer at the time of admission.
  • The calculator may not provide accurate results for students who are over the age of 24 or are otherwise considered federally independent.
